Guys, this week my eheim 2260 came in. ive bought it with ceramic filterpipes. but now i also got these:

The thing is, the 2260 doesnt have baskets so some sort of net would be nice to make life easier.
If i put those in some sort of big sock, will that affect the waterflow seriously? i can imagine that, with the sock not having big mesh diamter, that debris gets stuck under it and thus lowers waterflow. any ideas or suggestions?

You can put them in a nylon stocking. It holds them together without limiting the flow of the ehiem. They look like a bio media aka. surface area for bacteria to grow on.

yeah, they are. these are developed by my university that did a lot of research on filter materials. they came up with this stuff for bigger filters.

Use a netting bag like the one oranges usually come in. Full flow.

what university?
