I will soon be purchasing two Rena XP3's for a 100 gallon tank that I will be housing a single 5" Serrasalmus Rhombeus. I'm wondering what type of media I should have in the canisters and how I should have them set up?

in my canister, I have sponges in the bottom (coursest on the very bottom), in the middle I have biostars and ceramic rings, in the top I have it stuffed with polyfill. Hope this helps.

Fluval ceramic noodles in the bottom basket, Seachem Matrix in the middle basket and scrubbies in the top.........

Should I have them both set up the same way or have one set up with two types of media and the other with two different types of media?

Forgot to add that I'm definitely going with some of the seachem matrix. Should a 2 liter be enough?
