Filter media to remove phosphates?

Got a outbreak of cyanobacteria going to reduce lights but how can I remove phosphates? I have a messy lil puffer and do 30-40% wc every 4 days

Chemi-pure elite says it will remove phosphates. I've never used it myself, but I've seen it in other sites with good reviews.

I recently started using both of those to fight cyano in my tank along with reducing lights and have seen a huge improvement over the last few days.
