i had read some post that about bio filtration and mechanical filtration on this site and ppl were sayin only use bio filtration and get rid of the mechanical form filtration. i m using a marineland 200 for my 25g saltwater fish only tank and there is a form mechanical filtration inside so i should take it out and put some bio rings only? i planning to stock some live rocks for the tank too maybe about 6lbs.

Use at least 25 lbs. of live rock as it is you main method of biological filtration, and biological filtration is king when it comes to saltwater. As for the filter media, just fill it mostly with the bio rings and have a small piece of sponge in there to catch the larger particles; keep in mind that the sponge will need cleaned often.

Agreed. And if the bio rings start to have build up on them just wash them with the sponges. That build up is excess nitrite and nitrate.
