filter pads?

my old lady got tons of medical quaze and pads and such
i mean tos 5 big boxes of it so far
was wondering if this can be used as filter pads
cheap since its in house already
and so much of it can fill all my big filters
any input anyone???????

Try an experiment. Gauze pads are sterile so they should be safe for fish. Put a few in water and see how they hold up. When they get dirty can you wash them and they come back to size or do they compress smaller. You don't want them to collapse and not let the water flow through... Just my thoughts ...
