FILTER PEAT..

anyone here use it in there filter's . weather it's a canister or wet dry/ sump.. does the tanish tint go away .. what are the benifet's

I use peat fiber in my planted tanks. I put it in media bags and put it in cannister filters this prvents the fibers from clogging up the filter or wrapping around the impeller. The tint isnt as dark this way but its still there a little. The benefit is it naturally softens the water and releases acids and trace elements that benefit plants as it breaks down over time
