I just finished plumbing my wet/dry filter to my 220 gallon tank's overflows. I used all PVC to do this, but I haven't glued the PVC yet. I would like to figure out a way to isolate the vibrations from the pump so that it doesn't vibrate all of the PVC under the tank. Last time I did a build like this put some 1" clear tubing inline with the pump which dampened the vibration enough to keep things quiet. I was thinking I'd use a black rubber coupling that I've seen at the hardware store (black rubber coupling with 2 hose clamps) but I noticed 1-1/4" is the smallest size offered. I could make this work by transitioning from 1" to 1-1/4", then back to 1" after the coupling, but I was hoping there would be an easier solution.
Thoughts?

Thanks,
Ryan

I would just use the vinyl tubing. those black rubber adapters leave residue on my hands when I've touched them, not something I'd want in my water. the longer the length, the more of dampening effect you'll get.

I use 1' of 2" braided nylon tubing from the bulkhead from my sump to the inlet in my reeflo, and about 9" of 1.5" tubing on the output before it hits my mass of pvc nonsense. I also have the pump sitting on two a vibration dampening block thingy. cheap solution that provides big results. I also have sections of the tubing before the tank. helps support the mass of PVC without transferring a bunch of vibration.
