filter problem

i added a diy bucket filter to my pond. i put the stuffings of a entire pillow in it. after a few hours the water became crystal clear. tommorow i find the water to be blur and dirty again and the filter media full of dirt. will i daily have to clean the filter ? and how should i clean the media. i wanted a more efficient filter which would keep the water crystal clear and would need cleaning every week. how can i make adjustments to this filter

Hello guys I Need some help

I use quilt batting in drip trays on all my larger tanks/pond. Some need changed weekly, some every few months, depending on bio load and size of drip tray/piece of batting. Soooo easy. Figured I'd throw in my 2 cents since no responses so far.
