Filter Pump Sticking Problems

Hi Guys and Gals,

Does any one here have problems with filter pumps that stick! I have a Juwel Rio 240 and the pump usually needs to be banged and tapped with the hand after it has been switched off..! Anyone else get this or am I all alone with this problem. Getting a bit paranoid that one day it wont start at all

sadly this is common with rio pumps

Dont have a Rio, but my old aquaclear from time to time needed a little flushing and cleaning of the impeller and it's housing from gunk build up.
