Ok just wondering I have a 225 gal with 1 15 in RTG and 1 motoro ray about 6 in wide and 1 dat pretty small. Was wondering if my fx5 would be enough since its rated for 600 gal tank I think.. My tank has over flows but I don't want to hassle with a sump.. Any GOOD advise??

If it was me I would add the sump. Your probably going to add another fish or 2 or 3 :). When I had a 210 with one silver aro 2 motoros and a few other fish they loved the current. The rays played in it all the time. Never can have enough filtration and water movement. I also had one fx5 with the addition of the sump.

you can never have to much filtration.

examples; my 180gal has about 2000gph worth of filtration including a fx5 and i am going to be adding a sump and a 1000gph hydroponics system, that has a heavy bioload though. my 125gal with a 9" vatf, 5" rck and 7" ck has 2x ehim pro 3s and a very large sponge filter hooked up to a 250gph powerhead. i will be putting more filtration on that. i have a 10gal with a 30-60gal rated sponge on it. never enough and when you think it is enough add another till you have no more space.

+1

If your water params are in check and your happy with the amount of poop floating around in the tank, then the FX5 is enough.
