I have a topfin60 and was thinking of changing to a Hagen AC 110 is the filtration really better with AC110? Now my Topfin only has carbon in it. The Aqua Clear 110 has Foam Carbon Biomax. Also if I do buy it do I run both for a few days so I keep producing good bacteria?

How long do I run both filters if I do need to? I figure I need to run both filters for a while until new one forms bacteria am I correct?
About a week for it to stabilize, there are also some products you can get to seed the filter with a new colony. Or you can use some filter floss from your old filter with the AC 110 to speed up the process. Careful about the AC 110 though, the only knock against it is durability, the plastic is somewhat brittle, mine always arrive with cracks.

In my opinion you wont need to use the carbon.. It is more of a personal like or dislike in that area.
If it were me ,I would just leave the filter floss from the top fin in the ac110 media are for at least 3 weeks.Just to be sure the colony has stabilized.. But that is just me..
Remember also that your tank has bb spread through out so you are not really making a huge change as long as you use the old filter media fromt he top fin with the ac110.
