filter setup

hello i am setting up a 55 gallon aquarium and I just purchased a canister filter that has three trays. What I need to know is how to set up the three trays . No instructions came with it. i need to know how to set up the media trays its a sunsun hw-302. and how to setup the bottom .sand or gravel .sorry iam new at the canster fiter thing .
iam buiding a 8 ft aquarium headbord for my wife its comeing along very nice i wil send pic.

you should read the sticky about filter media. in my canister i run sponges and just bio-max and seachem matrix. but you can also use carbon if you want.

what are the dimensions of the 8 footer you are building? what are you planning on for filtration?

right now i just have the canster filter it for a 120 gal i have a 55 gal.
8ft long x 17 wide.

No, I can't see the drawing, but let me know how that sunsun works out for you. I haven't been able to read any reviews on it so far and I was curious about them since they're fairly inexpensive and I've been wanting another filter for when I upgrade.

ok let me get this straight? you are building a tank 8ft x 17in. and you also currently have a 55 gal?
