filter sock clogggggggggggggggggggg

does anybody elses filter sock clog after a day?
i think my filter sock is about 6-8" diameter. placed in a 50 gal sump running a 180 with like 20-30 fish.
it gets clogged everyday! even though i only feed once every 2 days..
is this normal? or should i be going somewhere else to buy filter socks.

Either add more mechanical filtration, change the micron, or feed less....

i use 32'' socks a 250 inside of a100 all inside of a 40 micron clean every 3-4 weeks with heavy feeding of 40 '' of koi with great water quality

40 micron, that's tight. Really tight. Think about sticking a prefilter on before the sock? Might help you out.

no clue. what micron it is. just a sock i picked up at a lfs. should i get a bigger sock. would that help.. or would i just need a sock of lower micron.

get a higher micron size, bigger holes so it wont filter as well but it wont clog as easy
or add a pre filter. something to catch the big particles before they clog up your sock

i catch alot of debris in the 200 & very little in the 100 & 40 but im sure if i used the 40 alone it would clog much faster .. look for something similar ..
