I think you are trying to ask what the best option is for a low maintenance sock?
I have not seen any square socks on the market, but I am fairly new to hobby and perhaps somewhere elsewhere in the world has them??...
I have found a split down the middle, some folks love socks and others hate them. I personally would fill that compartment with either bio balls or jap mat, and get egg crate light diffuser over the holes and use Baton filter floss across the top. Then when it gets gunned up you just toss it and put new floss in. This would be the least maintenance imo
socks in general are not as easy maintenance imo as some would like to think. Even if you are washing them out in the washing machine, they should still be rinsed off before throwing them in. If not you are risking damage to your washing machine when mts shells get caught in the machine etc.
I’m sure others will also chime in with more experience.
