Filter sock option for eshopps r -300

Hello every one. I just plumbed up this new tank build today. Looking for filter stock options for this sump. It is eshopps r -300 model. I am looking for not so low of micron socks im realy not sure if 100 is smaller then a 1000 and so forth? Been along time sence i have had socks. The holes them selfs are 3 7/8th x either 6 3/16th or 6 1/4 cant measure well nownitbus set up. Thanks for the input i appreciate it. Lowest maintence losaible socks?

So I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say here? It seems as if there are some auto correct issues in both posts above? (Not trolling you, just saying what it looks like to me).

I think you are trying to ask what the best option is for a low maintenance sock?

I have not seen any square socks on the market, but I am fairly new to hobby and perhaps somewhere elsewhere in the world has them??...

I have found a split down the middle, some folks love socks and others hate them. I personally would fill that compartment with either bio balls or jap mat, and get egg crate light diffuser over the holes and use Baton filter floss across the top. Then when it gets gunned up you just toss it and put new floss in. This would be the least maintenance imo


socks in general are not as easy maintenance imo as some would like to think. Even if you are washing them out in the washing machine, they should still be rinsed off before throwing them in. If not you are risking damage to your washing machine when mts shells get caught in the machine etc.

I’m sure others will also chime in with more experience.

Thanks for the reply. I was going to run the sump backwards, and fill what is typicaly the return part with sponges and other media but have decided to plumb it this was and run it as should so socks are all im currently looking for. I boight 200 micro eshopps this am because i needto run it. But still looking for lower number socks as in lets bigger particauls through and clogs less. I donhate cleaning them so i was going to run it different. But i habe a dish washer i have not used in 2 hears so they can get washed there

Matteus gave some great advise above. I have seen those Socks before. They’re a proprietary sock that e shops sells.. lighting defuser and floss is as easy as it gets.

So i purchased a 3 lack of these last night 300 micron from eshopps from fish store for 44.95 yikes. I ordered 3 sets of 2 from online thats say 200 micron i am curious to see when the show uo if they are 200 or 300 micron
