So I bought one 200M filter sock to test it out on my 220. Its already over flowing in under 24 hours, do you think this is just because this is the first time I am filtering the water to this level?

If this is just like the initial break in period where I have to get the water to a certian level of filtration; then I am okay with cleaning/changing each day. However if this is just normal and they only last 24 hours then, I will likely not order more.

Any one that uses filter socks want to comment?

I've used nylon filter bags in this manner. They do clog right away, as the bulk of what clogs them is caught. Then I turn 'em inside out, rinse 'em off, and do it again. By the third time, it goes a long time before needing rinsed again. HTH

yup, when i did the 100 micron bags i was changing them out every few hours it seemed lol. you just have to reach the certain point of clarity in your water. once the particles stabilize with what your filter sock is catching, it will take longer to clog. i know run a 100 micron inside a 50 micron sock and the water is crystal clear!

what filters do u run this filter socks with i was thinking about adding it to either my ac or my whisper intank filter to make my water more crispy. the sock looks like it could wrap around the plastic on my whisper filter. it has a cotten type sleeve and it always clogs but never gets the water crispy

For an in-tank application like this, I've had better luck tying the opening of the bag over the output of the powerhead. It fills like a big, ugly balloon and works really well with all of its surface area in use.

I also use a double filter sock 100/50 and I dont have to change my sock for weeks for my Lucifer (150)tank but I do have to change my sock every week for my Godric (220)tank.
