Filter socks/bag

I run a filter sock/bag on the inlet to my sump, every two days I have to clean it out as the water runs out of the top instead of through the sock. The sock is never really dirty when I have to clean it.

Would putting more filter material inside the filter sock help so it does not block up as fast?

I usually run a larger micron sock inside of a smaller one. This helps make the filter socks last quite a bit longer.

Mebbe you are using too fine a micron sock if it is overflowing yet still clean. Or too small a sock.

What size sock and micron level do you use?
