Filter Swap, thoughts?

I’m setting up another 150g, in my other 150g I have 2 well cycled FX6. In the new 150g I have 2 new out of the box FX4. My thought was to swap 1 FX6 for 1FX4. This way both tanks will have one of each and the new tank should cycle quicker with the media from the older filter. Am I correct?

In theory, yes your new 150g will have a good kick start from the mature FX6. But think about the other 150g you are taking the mature FX6 from. You are basically halving the BB on that tank. This could lead to a spike until the BB catch up to the bio load again. By all means go ahead and do it but i'd be feeding less for a while in your original 150g as well as keeping tabs on parameters.
