Ok here is the situation…….

I’ve got a 130L tank running off an Eheim 2229 and has been doing so for 8 months; it is well mature and working well.

I’m now setting up a 200L tank, and running in an Eheim 2213 while the tank is cycling as the filter is also new.

When the time comes I’d like to swop the two filters around, would this cause any problems with my 130L tank that is well established and planted?

Thanks in advance

Howdy,

I'd answer that with "no". Depends on the bioload on the old tank, but in general, it will be fine.

You could also just split the old (dirty) filter media in half between the two filters and, thus, accelerate cycling in your 220 L.
