So I have decided to turn my 80g tank into the planted tank and make the 55g for the goldfish.

The goldfish will have the Eheim 2215 on the 55g. That will be more then enough considering that the 2215 is on the 85g their in now and everything is great.

Now for the 80g. I have a 2213 on the 55 planted and thats OK. The plants arn't blown away so thats good but I know I will need more power when I upgrade. So heres what I was thinking, just buy another 2213 and have them both on the 80g for the plants. Would that be a good idea? Or should I just get a 2215 or 2217 for the planted tank?

I made a poll so it will be easyer to view our choices.

Were talking about an 80 gallon. Id say keep the 2213 on the 80 gallon and add a 2217 as well thats JMO though. Or get an ac110 for turnover... and keep the 2213 as well.

the 85 has more water volume and surface area added to the equation, don't be surprised if the 2215 is no longer enough when moved to the 55.

the 2217 isn't very strong, probably around 150-200 gph throughput when full of media. unless you point into plant with in a few inches you probably wont notice. i think the 2217 is enough assuming the plants will do most of the filtration.
