So I've been using TopFin Power 60's since I got into the hobby. Before you start with your "THERE WORTHLESS!!!1!!!1!!!!11!" rants, I will tell you one thing. I have never had a problem with one and I swear by them. Ask anyone my moto is stick with what you know but lately I've been looking to upgrade and since this is gonna be my nice SW tank I'm thinkin about making a switch to AquaClear 110. Would this be overkill? I want the most possible filtration I can get from a HOB filter. I would be going from 300GPH a filter to 500GPH a filter. So times that by 2 and it's 600GPH to 1,000GPH basically running 2 AC's would be the equivalent of running 3 Power 60's and then some. Would that be overkill or well worth it? Thought's? Suggestions?

And no I don't want to switch to a sump or cannister, I just love HOB's I don't know why

Basically FO but I do have a small amoutn of LR on my dead rock trying to make it all LR.

Tank would be my 60G that all my guys are in. We have a bigger tank in the garage waiting for them to get bigger.

I don't see why you just don't get a fluval 405 instead of 3 110 AC and just get some good powerhead's to keep things flowing and debris, detritus, and excessive food in the column so your fluval can clean it out.

I guess that's cheap it's the cheapest place I could find them. PetSmart had them for $90 a filter and the other LFS had them for $70 but my LFS has them for $45 I thought everyone else was just jacking up their prices

I have 2 aquaclears 110s on my 55g. They keep the tank super clear, hold 1g of water and are great filters. But the problem is, they make a terrible grinding sound for like a week upon startup and than are quiet, than after you clean the impeller, it starts grinding again. Make sure the tank is above 30g or so otherwise it will be overkill. You can however reduce the flow rate to 60gph instead of 110gph. I have my 2 110s on full power but turn them down during feeding. So far so good and 4 weeks after setup! (cycled in 3 weeks about)
