I just got a tap water purifier for christmas, now Im wondering if its ok to use the filtered water in my tank. As the water here is terrible and if full of stuff I personally wouldn't want to swim in. If so, should I condition the water with water conditioner anyway? Suggestions, thoughts, all are appreciated.

If you were curious you could use a chlorine/chloramine test to see if it removed any. But unless your filter is massive and the flow rate is relatively slow, it's not going to remove chlorine/chloramine. It's just a "polisher" for taste.

I would continue to do what you have been doing until you find out for sure what that purifier does. After all it will not hurt anything.
