filtering a 40 long tank

I dont kno what im putting in my 40 gallon tank but probaly one large cichlid.what filter would u recomend.

fluval 204 or if you want to over filter use the 304
but rena have good filters too

hmm 40 gallon I would say either a decent caniser xp3 or 304 fluval mabe 2 ac hang ons or a 180 gallon sump/wet dry

I'd say an XP3 would be overkill. It would turn a 40 gallon into a river with all the current it would kick out.
I have Emperor 330s on my 40 gals and they do the job just fine. Just fill the extra media basket with lava rock or some other good bio-media.
