Hey guys I am currently quarantining a Marble Ray in a Large storage container. The container is on the ground and its currently being filtered by sponge filters and a Fluval 304. The problem is that the Fluval is struggling without the help of gravity and I am hearing some grinding. Can you guys think of a better way to filter this or a better filter that wont ruin itself under these conditions?

Get one of those Internal UV filter

Cheap-O HOB from wal mart.
Might need to make some mods for it to fit your container.

^^^ this. I used an emperor 400 on a 55 gallon trash can so this should work pretty well. Or you could just get another large sponge filter

I was thinking a HOB but I have sand on the bottom for her to bury herself and I think it would just chew the daylights out of the impeller.

As for an internal UV I think I would need something to hold all my bio media

I was thinking of just using a bunch of sponge filters but the rays produce so much ammonia I am afraid they are just not going to be enough
