New setup in my garage is now in place.
I have 4 X 2000L Tubs approx 2meters in diameter and about 650mm high.
I'm going to have 2 tubs per filter and plumb the system for easy water changes and top ups.
The general idea is to have a crack at breeding Motoro Rays (yes I know). So I will have 2 breeding groups in two tubs, a grow out tub and a seperation tub.
Additionally, I will have a 1000L IBC with heated water ready to go for 25% water changes once a week.
Now my only issue is deciding on how to filter the systems.
I think I've narrowed down on using a DIY trickle filter.
So I'm thinking of using 2 X 80L Tubs and using
Foam
Black Sponge
Marine Pure
Koi Sponge
Egg Crate
In that order.
And then having large feed pumps in the actual ray tubs (however will this disturb them?)
So my questions are , should I plumb in some Hydor 300W heaters to the return flow, or build a well where I can use a submersible heater (brands?) and if I should do that, how could I have a 'submersible section' in the filter tubs?
