just a question on what would be the best filter for a 4ft tank? i need a brand name and how much it would cost. what is the best way?

well how many gallon is it? if it a 55 gallon id say an aquaclear 70 (that is a hang on back filter) and maybe a fluval 305 canister filter
if its a 75 gallon id say a aquaclear 110 and a fluval 405
if its a 125 gallon- a fluval fx5 to have some monster filtration
lookin on ebay is the cheapest imo

That sounds about right. You can always do 2 AC110's either a 55g or 75g if you don't want to spend the money on a canister. They do a great job. Check out Big Al's as they usually have better prices than most retailers.

A 4ft tank can have any common gallonage ranging from 30-120 gallons. 1 single measurement doesnt fit the bill. As for filtration, what fish do you want? Are you wishing to grow something?

well the tank is 70 cm high and 70 wide. my friend has one wwith a jebao cheapo filter from ebay. would thoose be the go? i am growing discus and pleco along with red jewls wich are mad spawners along with angels and spiny eel and zebras and black sharks and black ghosts knifes with blue peacocks? any thaughts?

Do you want do keep the discus more then the other fish? Firstly, Afican cichlids belong with thier own kind. Red Jewels can be mean S.O.B's so are best left with the africans. You also have 163 gallons when using the measurements in inches.

Your filter should always be of impeccable quality and that Jebo wont cut it. Consider a AC 110 (Maybe 2) plus a large, powerful canister.

Howdy,

I run an Eheim 2080 on my 4 ft 75 gal. A buddy successfully runs two Eheim 2217. That might be the cheaper option of the two. Both are extremely reliable, effective, and long-lived.
