I personally love the Marineland Emporer series hang on the back power filters. The biowheels give you the wet/dry function. Something other power filters don't provide. I currently have 2 Emporer 280's for my Rd/Midas in his 60 gallon tank. When I plan on upgrading to my 80 to 100 gallon tank sometime next year, I wonder if 2 Emporer 400's will be sufficient enough? Most people tell me to use a canister filter in addition to an Emporer 400, but I was wondering if 2 400's would be ok since canister filters are such a pain in the ass when it comes to maintanence.
How big is the tank you want them for?

Media capacity between 150 grams and 200 grams; maximum recommended flow rate: 80 gph for 150 grams of PhosBan, 90 gph for 200 grams. 4-1/2" x 4" x 17-1/2" high. Use with PhosBan to safely keep phosphate levels low in freshwater and marine (including reef) aquariums for several months. Highly porous, super adsorbent, ferric oxide hydroxide-based media effectively binds large amounts of phosphate, organic compounds, and other pollutants. Won't leach material, even when fully saturated.
