Your best bet is to go with a sump or a wet/dry. Check out the DIY section and have a look. You should find all the info you need.

...yeah, have you seen the prices lately on a fluval? i wished i wouldve got the sump and return instead. only wouldve run a little more...maybe. And id be alot happier.

sump - but not wet/dry. just fill it with live rock/live rock rubble - best filtration a SW system can get.

well your filtration should reflect what you want to do with the tank if it's a reef tank you might wanna lean toward a refigium if it's a fish only go for a wet/dry filtration. What is your plan's for this tank? FOWLR or REEF TANK?
