I have another newbie question, lol. I would like to know what y'all use for filters, and pumps. I have heard several times that Eheim makes the best there are. This will be my first real tank (probably wont tackle it for another year or so), and I don't want to cut any corners. I am looking for honest reviews, and suggestions. Thanks for all the help. The tank will be a 75 gallon, at least that's what I am thinking right now.

Everyone seems to have their own preferences for filter manufacturer and swear their brand is the best. It may be to your advantage to do a bit of searching. Many times the simple question of "What filter is the best" develops into an argument on this type of question.

What do you prefer, canister, HOB... sump? Personally I'd do one of the Eheim Classic Canister filters.
I am not really sure, but my father swore by Eheim canister, and a few that I know all do the same. I was thinking that was probably the way I wanted to go, but was just looking for a few opinions, and seeing what others thought.
for tanks 30G and up, I use Eheim classics . . . under 30G, I use AquaClear HOBs
