Alright so i currently have a emperor 400 on my 75 gal and i would like my water to be cleaner then it is. I just took down my two 20 gallons and i have 2 aqua clear filters that i am not using. One is for a 20 gal, the other is for a 30 gal. I am short on money so instead of buying another big filter for my 75 i wanted to put these two to good use. But when i try to hang them on the back of the 75 they wont fit....any ideas? (i know there not made to fit a 75, but is there a way i can use them with my 75?)

Put them on the side, lots of people do this. It doesn't loook the best but it'll do until you move the tank farther away from the wall.

The frame on the 75 is wider than the smaller tanks. You could cut into the frame a bit to get them to hang over the edge right but I wouldnt.

its the one peice molded trim. pretty much all tanks 65g and up will have the thicker trim (and thicker cross braces) so all AC models except for the 110 size will not fit.

what I did when I ran into this situation was get an AC 110 instead.

I didn't want to cut the trim of the tank at all. also, the trim is the same all the way around so putting it on the side is not an option, it still won't fit..

Sell the two on eBay and then throw in some change and buy a bigger one, maybe on eBay to. If I was in your shoes I would not want to mess up a good tank for a so so filter upgrade.

Seriously guys this is all the notch has to be:
