i am new at this forum thing trying to figure it out sorry

Just bought an fx5 from petsolutions.com for 229.00.

If you have any mechanical ability then DIY sump. ----------------------------------old tank/old windows for baffles <craigslist/ cheap pump (ebay)/ hardware store for piping. You could easily have the best method of filtration IMO for less than any canister for this size tank. I built my last sump off of craigs list for a 55g for less than 50 bucks.

The "BEST" and the "CHEAPEST" are on two completly different ends of the scale for aquarium filters.

The "CHEAPEST" would be 2 or more AquaClear 110s. The most Expensive would be Eheim. The BEST is what fits your aquarium properly.

What is the stocking type in your 125 Gallon tank?

last i checked emperor filters are a bit cheaper then AC.

My vote goes to DIY wet/dry. They're the best bang for the buck hands down.
