I am new to this and have been searching for the last couple of hours on how to build an in wall tank and other things. I will be building an in wall 146 gallon tank in a closet and the front and one side will be showing. I am looking for some neat looking fish that are relatively easy to take care of and need to know what i will need to do for filtration and lighting. I don't really have a clue about these two things so any advice you can share would be greatly appreciated. What will i need for electrical, what should i rough in for 110 when i build the tank and where should the outlets be located? Thanks for sharing any knowledge with a newbie

In all liklehood your tank will require a dedicated 15Amp circuit to run the filtration, lighting and heater. All told you will probably need 3 duplex outlets strategically located at the back of the tank. Most appliance cords are six feet long so keep that in mind when you locate your outlet boxes on your framing for the tank/closet.
There should be no other devices on the aquarium circuit. Use minmum 14AWG wire and install a GFCI receptacle on the line side to eleiminate the risk of electrocution.
