My filtration setup is two of the aqueon 400gph filters(rated for 90 gallons each), and my diy overflow with 30 gallon sump. Basically a 200 micron filtersock then a five gallon planter filled with golf wiffle balls, return is a quietone 2200. I change out my filtersock every week and it gets a clorine soak and then 3 weeks of airdry before rotated back into service, (4 socks). I change two of the aqueon filters every two weeks, and do weekly 60 gallon waterchanges. Currently stocked with 1 oscar 2 sevrums 1 green terror 1 jack demspy 1 firemouth 1 eartheater and 1 common sailfinpleco. Does this sound about right?

If you are not having any problems and your fish are eating and look healthy then you are doing okay. But I think there are a couple of things I probably would not do. like the chlorine soak and all that.

I was actually very skeptical about the bleach soak until I did it, it totally oxidizes all the organic that are left even after rinsing out the filter socks, It allows me to "recycle" my filter socks. The fish are growing, and they are always hungry. The Oscars growth has slowed down lately but he is already at 8 inches, Tank was set up about 8 months ago.

correction, its been 9.5 months, wow.
