Hey,
a while ago I decided to go for another direction and sold my bichirs and CA cichlids.
I now have two 6.5ft tanks with similar stocking:
6.5ft by 22in by 20in
-3 Astronotus ocellatus / oscars
-8 Myleus schomburgkii var. 2 / small blackbelt silverdollar
-1 Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps / sailfin pleco
-1 Mastacembelus dayi / black spotted eel
- 5 Yasuhikotakia modesta / black red finned loaches

6.5ft by 20in by 20in
-2 Astronotus ocellatus / oscars
-7 Myloplus rubripinnis / red hook silverdollars
-1 Hypostomus commersoni
-10 Chromobotia macracanthus / clown loaches

The goal is to keep a pair of oscars in each of the tanks but I was able to get only juvenile fish.
I will buy one more so there are 3 in both tanks and maybe keep them all together when reaching sexual maturity to make them form pairs.

But the filtration is the topic now.
Right now there is a 1.700 l/h canister on the 145gal so it's pumping 3x the volume per hour.
I want to put a 2.000 l/h canister on this tank PLUS a mat filter (measuring 54x48x3 cm) with an additional 1.000 l/h adding up to 3.000 l/h which is 5,45 times the volume of this tank.

Similar for the 132gal:
This one gets the 1.700 l/h canister and a mat filter (48x48x3 cm) with a 1.000 l/h pump as well.
Adding up to 2.700 l/h which is 5,4 times the volume of this tank.

Of course I am including mechanical and biological media.
This should be alright as far as I am concerned.

If I did forget anything or if I got something wrong please feel free to correct me and give your opinion on this topic.

Hey,
that would be "only" 3.500 l/h for 400-700 Euro depending where I buy it.
Nah in my opinion that's over the top.
It might be a good product but for 400-700 bucks I can get 1 or 2 more 6.5ft tanks.

I don't want to overfilter the tanks I just want to establish a filtration system that's working out for the size and stocking.

I see your point a fx6 isn’t cheap, but is a extremely effective filter. But if your just looking for some extra turnover for little cash why not throw a aquaclear hob on there?
