is a fx5 enough filtration for this size of tank or should i run more?

if you overstock fish better getting another filters.

I am setting up my 210g and I am debating on my filter set up right now. I have purchased one new FX5 for it and am not sure if I want to add another FX5 or to use the new FX5 with 2 Cascade 1500 canisters that I already have. Whatever the case I know I will have large fish and one FX5 will probably not keep up.

I would sug. a Nu-Clear for the larger tanks they are great and you can put a pump that is correct for the GPH

On my 210 I just setup I am running a 75 gallon sump(wet/dry with bio balls) , an FX5, and a Marineland biowheel 350. This might be overkill but I am ok with that.

Stock to start will be
2 Jacks
1 Jag
1 Texas
1 Red Head
1 Red Terror

i have a 180 g with a 35 g sump and the pump is rated at 999 gph a rio 3100 and i have
all my fish are 3 inch

3 vieja synspillum
2 texas escondido
1 hartwegi
1 regina
2 midas
1 pearsi
1 tire track eel
1 argenteana
1 syndoptis catfish
1 hap
1 jack dempsey
is my filtration enough or should i get a fx5

I would get the fx5 as a secondary filter. If your pump fails for what ever reason at least it can help take care of the bio load until the primary sump filter is back running again.

Never rely on a single filter for an aquarium ! No matter what size. shape or brand, a single filter has a high chance of something going wrong when you doing everything right.
