I have a new 220g tank. 6ft x2ft x2.5ft LWH. Will two eheim 2217's and 2 5ft Overhead filters be enough? Each overhead filter's will contain 3kg ceramic rings

Inhabitants will be

1x 16inch endlicheri
1x 14inch endlicheri
1x 14inch cichla ocellaris
1x 9inch Indo Tiger
1x 5inch New Guinea Tiger
1x 6inch North Thailand Tiger
1x 6inch Red Hook

Here's my all glass tank 70% done. No braces yet. We used 1/2 inch glass

Should be plenty of bio that is for sure. I dont know what the flow rate on your overheads will be but sounds like you have a very solid setup.

Actually I have the outlet pipe of one of my eheim's connected to the inlet of the Overhead filter. Its as if I have my eheim for prefiltration before the water goes to the 5ft overhead filter.

That may be the fanciest "prefilter" I've ever heard of... lol

No kidding... . I would not think two eheim 2217 would be enough turnover for a tank that size plenty of bio but maybe not enough water movement / turnover. May want to use some power heads too in the tank and or some HOB's or an FX5 as well... Maybe I am misunderstanding your plan however.

yeah. I just thought I'd connect the return of the eheim to the overhead filters intake..it works hehe

I dont have to use a different pump for the OHF anymore,,

hehehe prefilter :P

I would love to see some pics of your OHF's. Are they DIY or prebuilt? Dimensions & all that good stuff would also be appreciated.
