Filtration for 360 gallon

I'm currently setting up my 360, it has a 125 gallon sump. Was wondering if I should use 1 or 2 mag 18 to power it? There are 2x 2.5" drains connected to 1.5" bulkheads connected to 1" PVC. Will also be using 2 fx5s and I already have one mag 18.

I would start off with running just the 1 that you already have and see if you are happy with the flow. Adding a second pump wouldn't be too hard if you feel that 1 isn't enough.

Is there any reason you are reducing the plumbing down to 1" PVC? That might actually prevent you from being able to run a second Mag 18; not sure your overflows would handle 2,200GPH+ if they are reduced down to 1".

I would personally look at other pumps (ex- Water Blaster, Laguna Max-Flo etc), since the Mag 18 isn't very efficient. If you run 2 of them (Mag 18s), that's running 290 Watts 24/7 and you will definitely feel that on your next power bill.
