I have a drilled 180 gallon tank. I am using it for a freshwater discus and angels. The drills in the tank are at the bottom of both back ends with an overflow. I wanted to do a sump but I'm not sure how many bio balls or pot scrubbers I need so what I thought of was to use the over flows as a way to drain the tank for water changes I'll have a 60 gallon tank underneath to hold old water than empty than refill in display. I was thinking of using two gate valves on each side to control the water to go into the drain tank when it's water change day. For filtration I'm getting two 100 gallon canister filters with two hob aqua clear filters. Aqua clears have 500 gph each the two canister filters have 350 gph each. Is this enough filtration? Or should I just figure out a DIY sump?
