What would be the best way for filtering such a large tank? Should I buy a reef ready tank with overflows built in? Or is there some other way to filter the tank?

Thanks for any and all ideas. :headbang2

I'm doing a 75 gallon sump and a pair of fx5's on a 300 gallon, but that's because I'm planning on stocking it with a few very large loricariids. You could probably be good with a sump, pump, reef ready setup. You can always add a canister if you feel you need more. Sumps are good for all sized tanks IMO

Yea best way is with built in overflows. And Look for an old 75g tank to turn into a wetdry filter. Fx5 is great to like stated above, to use secondary with the polishing pads. Depends on your stock for how crazy you want to go

The FX5 is a good filter but in no way a comparison to the Eheim 2260 or 2262.
