Hi,
Could anybody help me, i was advised to get a bigger tank and have done so. I have recently bought a brand new Juwel Vision 450 and have been told that the filtration is not very good in the juwel tanksso was wondering if anyone could tell me of a cheap but good external filter to run alongside my internal Juwel filter.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would add an Eheim 2217 canister filter to the current filtration and call it a day. Eheim aren't the cheapest but they are the best. :)

Great tank, I love the Vision 450, I wanted one when I got my Rio 400 but they were a lot more expensive used and I couldn't find one local. If I were you I'd cut out the Juwel filter before you get it filled up and get a large external (FX5 or equivalent). I'm using a second hand Tetratec 2400 but it makes a hell of a noise (not sure if they are like that when new).

What colour are stand and tank edging? Are you putting the O's in there?

Another cichlid owner on the site advised me to upgrade my tank, at the time i didnt have the funds to buy the tank i wanted and so had to sell on my Oscars.
He was right, there was far too much ammonia in the water and i didnt want to make them sick.

But we will be getting another Oscar pair once the new tank is up and running for a decent time period.
