Filtration for my 220G South American Tank

sump and canister combo works really well for me

Id get a sump. I have a 265 with a 40 gallon sump and a coralife 1270 pump. I couldnt ask for a better, more reliable setup.

I have been looking into the sump setups and I guess I'm a little confused on the best scenario for the tank. Did you make your own?

I currently have very little experience with sumps. I have used HOB and Canister filters my whole life. I don't do saltwater and I'm just looking for the best way to keep this sucker the cleanest.

i made my own,60 gallon sump,mag-drive12.5 pump and 1200gph over flow and plastic three drawer tower for media(my first diy sump and it works great)a little research and you can do it your self also.

2 large canisters

a large sum would prolly be most efficient and cheapest route to go
