Hi, first time poster here! Decided to post rather than lurch in the background for once. Anyway...

I recently bought a small second tank, as i wish to get some dwarf puffers.
The tank i bought is an Arcadia Arc tank, which is appx 7.5 gallons i think.

I've read that the dwarf puffers are messy eaters, so I upgraded the filter to an Eheim Liberty 200, which is rated at 760 Liters per Hour (200 gph).
Its alot bigger than i expected, but i like it. (kinda looks like an old Nintendo NES)

Anyway, my question is, Is this filter over kill, or is it a good idea having one this large for messy eaters? I only plan on keeping 2 of the DP's in this tank.
Also, should i put the filter on the high or low setting?

Its currently on high while the tank is cycling, its a fairly strong current but nothing too bad.

Thanks

Rob

Howdy,

As long as the puffers can hold down their own against the current you're okay. If not, then you can always upgrade the tank. The Liberty 200 is rated for 50 gal, but I wouldn't go much bigger than 20 gal.

Happy fishkeeping and welcome to MFK,
