Well as you may or may not know, my cf1000 decided to spring a leak and so decided to get another filter (though couldnt quite afford the new prices). As it turned out the leak is incredibly slow but dont want to take chances, though will store it for now to use later. So I ended up with a XP3 and also a Eheim 2213 both second hand. I need help setting up to make sure I have smooth transition! So here they are:

XP3 going on 100g.
The xp3 I think I have mostly covered, the tubes seem to fit snug onto the sockets without aid of any plugs. I can fit the adaptors and hopefully tubing from the cf1000 onto this one (fingers crossed). With the internals as this pic:

There are gaps at the sides not snug fit, hope this is normal. each of the compartments have rings and sponge, should I transfer over rings and sponge from the cf1000 to seed properly into each of the containers and can sponge be put down the sides or not recommended?

Quite short tubing thinking replacing if current fits how many size tubings are there? Do they need sockets?
Eheim to go on 120 litre, this appears to be full of sand so giving this and the other a good clean before anything else.
Inside is this which drags out a tube, can this be filled with whatever, it looks like bioballs in there but havent managed to get inside yet

Here is the outlet tubes which look good working order with spray bar

Here is the inlet tube - anyone guide me to the inlet parts? Anything I can adapt or where can go for parts?

Lastly the tubes have these double attachments which somehow must fit onto the plumbing, how?! Stupid as I am, really cant figure out as to why there are two parts attached together or how to get them to fix on.

Sorry for the doltiness. I want to get the xp3 up so no worries about flooding and the eheim up to eliminate the internal filter that does take up a lot of room in the triangular tank..Thanks so much for any help

Mini update, I seem to have managed on the xp3, it seems to be running ok, water goes in and come out again so fingers crossed.

It is just the eheim, cant get the valves to fix assume I need piping to fix between the valves and the canister?

Dont think I can edit so sorry for the ongoing posts.

Some good news!

XP3 is up and running after much battling, only question on this one is should the water go right to the top of the canister? And that I didnt have any tube clamps so the tubes are direct onto the outputs is this ok?

With the eheim, I have cleaned it up now, only real question I think for this one is, on the 6th pic down with the intake and black piping, the intake is the wrong way round? If the cradle attaches to the piping, the length of green goes in the tank? I know the strainer is missing, for a short while could I make do without it (as the fish considering just wouldnt fit up the intake is small).

Last major issue on the eheim is with the valves and attaching to canister, does it go canister output, small amount tubing, valves, tubing into tank and attachments? I ask as the only external experience have is the cf1000 which had valves attach onto canister direct and now xp3 that the tubes go onto the canister outputs direct.

You should be able to find the amnual on eheims website

Hi I did since find one but it wasnt all that clear the bulk of it being in german, but someone has since let me know what to do! Im worrying about the xp3 water level though..It didnt go to the top and though may have been as I added a further sponge to the bottom, so took this out but then when turned the filter on the water went down and motor head started to whirr. Put the bottom extra sponge back in and this is how the water now runs:
