Quick question. On a wet & dry sump, îf i take thé larger bio balls & drill out the centre to about 5/16th, then fit a plastic shaft through about 15 or so balls & make a row of 10, will it work îf i trickel water through thêm so they rotate through thé water, while being exposéd to thé air at thè same time..? Thanks.

I guess it could work, but I think it is an extra step that will be difficult to get right, and it probably won't be any better than a traditional W/D filter.

are you trying to acheive a biowheel of sorts? seems to me a regular wet/dry is alot less headaches and same principal.

Probally thé same principal, just thought that a rotating biowheel might providè a better surface areâ as its moving constantly by thé flow? Probally more of a ball ache but you dont know till you try..

I have read a lot on here about filtration and I think a lotof people over do. I have a 300 gallonplywood tank. That has been up andrunning for about a year now. I have onsilver arrowana about 15 inches, onelarge Oscar, 2 clown loaches, 5 large AfricanCichilds, one large parrott fish. I havea 500 gallon pond filter I bought from Lowes

That I clean about once a month. I ran ¼ water line to the tank hooked up ainline fridge filter from Lowes that I attached a drip admitter to. Next I drilled a 3/8 water drain line where Iwanted the water line to be I also added a air wand. Water stays crystal clear I never do waterchanges at all. The arrow has doubled insize and almost no work on my part. It reallydoesn’t take that much
