I picked up a 40 breeder this weekend and I have decided to make into a Shell Dweller tank. (Let the flaming begin) I am going with a group of 10 Lamprologus Ornatipinnisand a few Julies but not sure which ones yet. My question concerns filtration. I am thinking that I am going to use a wet / dry that I have lying around but I also have a Fluval 405 laying around too. The wet / dry is an old Amiracle SL50 I think. I've had it for 15 or so years so I could be wrong. My idea is to set up the wet / dry and have the 405 running on the wet / dry and filled with Biomax. I know it would be overkill for biological but I don't know if it will work. I could always just run them both on the tank but I am thinking that the flow rate would be too much and that it would keep blowing the sand everywhere. Any idea's?
