Right now I have a 125g with an Emperor 400 filter.

In the tank are 2 baby oscars, and a baby pleco. I do 30% water changes weekly.

Obviously the filter I've got is fine for my 3 baby fish, with my weekly water changes.

What I want to know is, will I need a better filter when these 3 fish are adults? Even if I do 30% water changes weekly?

you'll need alot more filtration for the stocklist you mentioned as adults, look into buying a large canister filter in the near future. a large eheim or a fluval FX-5 would work nicely. All fish mentioned are super dirty (pleco dependant on species) bigger the worse).

a single emp can't handle even close to the total bioload you'll have to deal with for these fish. stock the cnaister with a variet of bio media such as ceramic rings. i assume you use carbon as a media in your HOB?

I agree with XR. In addition, I would advise you to get the cannister as soon as possible. The oscars will grow fast and you will want a filter with established bio-media ready to handle the bio-load. Soon, your O's will be big and the ammonia and nitrites will be too much for the Emperor to handle.
