Hey everyone. I have a 36g growout with a Blood parrot, oscar, and a JD. They are all about an inch and a half. I understand this is not going to work for long. They are all going in a 75 in a month or two and when the o gets big the 75 is his and the BP and JD will have a 55 or 75 to themselves.

Now for my question. I have an aqueon power filter 40 and an aqua clear 50 filtering my tank. Should i be ok with this or do i need more filtration?

how does the tank's water look?

what are ur water parameters?

if these are all fine then there would be no need to get another filter. in the future however, when the Oscar and others are larger they will probably require more filtration. i guess in the end it would all depend on how fast u get them out of that 36.

Like Death Sting asked, hows your water look? if its good then what you have now will probably be fine, esp considering the smaller size of your fish. However I will tell you right now that just the oscar alone will out run both those filters. If you can, when you upgrade to the 75 (which I suggest a 90 or even a bit bigger with those 3 fish if you can wing it) get a pair of AC110's if you want HOB filters or an FX5 if you wish to switch to canister filtration. With those you will be good on filtration. All I can say is that Ebay and CL are your friend when it comes to stretching a buck in this hobby.
