hi there, can anyone give me a advise on what kind of filtration system i need for a 200 gallon tank?
whats my best choices? and price?
im planning on puting some pbass in it and im planning on building it to.
out of acrylic. and can i build it to, the filter?

I have 2 P-bass and 1 Arowana in my Oceanic 210. Currently I'm running 2 Aqua Clear 110's (each producing 500gph of flow), and a wet/dry 25 gallon sump w/ 2 pumps (producing around 600gph of flow). With my calculations my filtration system is cycling my tank at a turnover rate of around 8. The rule of thumb is to have a filtration system that can produce a turnover rate of around 5-6 times the size of your tank (freshwater of course) for large specimens that produces a lot of waste like P-bass. So for your tank just multiple the size of it by 6 to get an idea of how big of a filtration system you need. 200x6 = 1200gph at least.

Since you are building your own tank you might want to look into integrating a wet/dry system into your custom tank. Refer to the DIY section, there's a lot of write ups on how to build your own sump.

Your AC110's are probably only producing about 350gph or so. The rating of 500 gph is when the filter is empty and I assume that yours are not empty.

1200 gph of filtration is good for a 200, but more is always better.
