I have an aqua clear 110 and an eheim 2217 on my 90g. They both work great but when i feed my fish, the water gets smelly afterwards. Do i need an extra filter. I dont think i am over feeding. Each fish gets their equal share of food. Or can it be the food. I feed then freeze dried jumbo krill and hikari cichlid pellets. The smell usually takes about an hour or so to clear out but after feeding it still stinks. Some advice please will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the food gives your fish gas!!:ROFL:

Could just be the food, but I would get another HOB.. Like AC110 or Emperor 400.. Good luck!

mixture of krill and some pellets.

Get another filter!!!

I have a 100 gal. with a large FH like the one in your Avatar and I feed quite well. I also have the same filters you have. I believe it is the best combo of filters to have. (that is why I have them). The 2217 for bio and the AC 110 for mech.
I do not understand why you have a problem. Sorry I can’t help. Good luck.

How often do you do water changes?

Ya, but carbon also will remove any good chemicals you may add to your tank.
