Filtration

if its a 4 ft. tank 1 ac 110 or emporor 400 should do it. or you could try a smaller hob x 2(ac70 ish). or you could try smaller hob +sponge filter if your on a lower budget.

how big should the filter be on a 50 gal. tank to make it crystal clear.

Easy...........Buy two Aqua CLear 70's..........If you have the money, and really want to be seriuos, add a canister filter and an internal filtrer...........For canister, I would suggest a RENA XP3..............Then, add the internal filter of choice, a FLUVAL U4......The internal filter, plus the power of the canister filter will add great circulation to the pair of AC70's already mechanicaly filtering................

i am useing a topfin 60 with bio wheel filter pads on one end . then a bio wheel 150 on the other end of the tank . my water looks good .

I'm working on setting up a 55 gallon with a ten gallon sump and an Eheim 2217. I bought a gl*******s overflow I drilled a hole in the back of the tank for. I'm using a 25 micron filter sock for mechanical filtration on the sump, seachem matrix for bio, and a mag drive 7 return pump. I'm anticipating the water to be very clear.

That's funny gl*******s gets censored. I was talking about an overflow from glass-holes.com if anyone is interested.
