im upgrading to a 120 i also have a 55 gallon bow front to set up in the future right now all is calm and peaceful and i do every other week on water changes if levels rise also i alternate on the cleaning of filters the cannister holds all bio media and the athers are mechanical and carbon

also you can see the fry from the pair of jewels in the corner so there is no lack of breeding between the haps and the jewels im goin on 5 spawns in as few as three months the hap fry are in a 20 gallon long around three spawns so far in that tank had a fourth but they became fish food

What are your water parameters? If Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates are all good your filtration is sufficient. If your Ammonia or nitrite levels are too high you need more Bio filtration. If your Nitrate levels are too high you need to do more water changes (and check the Nitrate levels in your source water).

As for mechanical filtration: It looks like you have clear water without any murk... I would say you are fine for mechanical filtration.

levels are all perfect 0 amonia 8.2 ph and less then .25 nit waters hard of course i use cichlid salts and keep maintenance up at all times water changes about every three weeks and rotate filter cleaning every two weeks with a rinse out, replace carbon every three to four weeks i clean canister once a month keeping ceramic rings in tank water but clean sponges thoroughly

Sounds like your tank is in great shape! It would be nice if all our tanks were in such great shape. I think you answered your own question of whether you have enough filtration. :D
